The King's Quincentenary Bursary (QBS) Scheme

This flagship scheme was set up to award Quincentenary Bursaries to deserving pupils of limited financial means who might not otherwise be able to pay for a first rate education at King’s. This is in line with the original objectives of the Founders of the School. The King’s Quincentenary Bursary Scheme was launched in 2002 to celebrate 500 years of the school. The first pupils entered King’s in September of that year.

The aim of the scheme is to provide funds for students to attend the school for two years to complete an education in the Sixth Form. The QBS scheme now regularly ensures that approximately a dozen students each year are able to attend the School’s Sixth Form Division. Should you decide to help support us, no matter how small the amount, your generosity will be appreciated and is of great value to the education of our young people.

Gift Aid Donations

Gifts in all forms are invaluable to King’s but do please ensure that you consult your own legal or financial advisers if you are in doubt. King’s is a charity and, if you are a UK taxpayer, your cash gifts can be made via the Gift Aid Scheme. This brings significant benefits for both and the School and these donations make a real difference to the Bursary Scheme and our pupils. A Gift Aid form can be downloaded here.

Legacy Donations

Some people may not wish to donate money at the moment, but want to leave a gift to a as part of their will. Most people tend to do this by allocating either a cash sum in their will or donating a percentage of their estate. Your legal advisor will help you with this but if you have not made a will yet, King’s can help. Do ring the Head of Foundation on 01625 260000 for further details. If you wish, you can download a legacy leaflet here, to help you with this:
